How To Bake A Cake.
When it is a birthday or any other event like having friends around for a meal a lot of people will have a cake for dessert. Most people will pop down to the local supermarket and just buy a cake.well it does not have to be that way.
Baking a really delicious sponge cream cake is really very easy and the satisfaction you will get after you have given it to your friends is well worth the effort.
You will need two cake tins for putting the mix in and some everyday ingredients.
This is how to bake a cake.
First you will need eight ounces of butter or margerine, eight ounces of self raising frour, eight ounces of sugar and four eggs.
Firstly mix the butter and the sugar together in a bowl and then add the flour.then you add the eggs.
Mix well together untill there are no lumps and the mix is smooth. Now grease up the cake tins and pour half the mix into each of the tins.Level off the mix in the tins and pop into a pre heated oven at 180 degrees or gas mark 6 for half an hour. After about 20 minutes you will be able to smell the cake and this alone makes it worth the effort, well at least in my mind it does!
Keep your eye on the tins and dont let it burn. After about half an hour the mix should have risen and be a loverly brown colour on top.
Remove from the oven and remove from the tins.run a knife around the edge of each tin to loosen the sponge. Leave on the work surface to cool.
Once cool you can start whipping up the cream.
Get some double cream and whip it until it sticks to the wisk. Do not over whip it.
Now get some strawberry jam or whatever takes your fancy and spread it on the lower sponge.
After it is evenly spread, spread over it a thick layer of the whipped cream.
Next put the top sponge ontop of the lower sponge and push down slightly.Spread the reat of the whipped cream on to the top of cake and add some fresh strawberries.
You can yoose any topping you like but I like strawberrys.
There, easy wasn't it.Who said how to bake a cake was hard.
